"Children Taken By the Family Courts" Quilt Project

Battered Women, Abused Children, and Child Custody: A National Crisis

The Battered Mothers Custody Conference

Visit www.batteredmotherscustodyconference.org for additional information, hotel reservations, and conference registration.

"Children Taken By the Family Courts" Quilt Project

The Conference has hosted a community quilt entitled "Children Taken by the Family Courts" since 2007. A short news clip showing the quilt at the 2009 conference is available online at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S_qh-jX9qGk .

The quilt is modeled after the AIDS quilt that was started in 1987 and that has since grown tremendously, gaining wide publicity for the cause of combating AIDS and HIV infection.

We are asking mothers who have lost physical custody of their children through family or divorce court proceedings to create a 1.5’ by 3’ fabric panel to commemorate their child(ren).  Panels can be made before the conference and brought or mailed for inclusion in the quilt (see address below).  We will be providing some sewing materials and other necessities so that mothers can work on their panels during the weekend of the conference. Mothers do NOT need to attend the conference in order to have their panel included in the quilt. Complete instructions for creating and mailing panels are below.

Please display the following on the front of your panel:

The first name(s) and last initial(s) of the child(ren) of whom you lost custody as a result of family or divorce court proceedings.

The child(ren)’s date of birth and the county and state of the court system through which you lost custody.

The month and year you lost custody of your child(ren).

Any drawings, artwork, or items that make the panel meaningful to you.

On the back of your finished (backed and hemmed) panel, in an inconspicuous place (one that does not show through to the front) please write YOUR name, phone number, and e-mail address. Please also safety-pin a note to the panel with this information.

Write a statement

Please also take the time to write a statement about your child(ren) and briefly describe how you lost custody. Please include your name, e-mail address and phone number on this statement.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR MAKING PANELS

Your design can be vertical or horizontal, but the finished, hemmed panel should be 1.5 feet by 3 feet (45 cm x 90 cm).

The fabric can be traditional quilting material found at any fabric or craft store, or can be made up of scraps pieced together to meet the size requirements.

Batting for the panels is not necessary, but backing made of sturdy fabric is needed to help keep panels clean when they are laid out on the ground. It also helps retain the shape of the fabric.

When you cut your 2 pieces of fabric (panel front and the backing), leave an extra 2 inches on each side for a hem. Please sew your panel and backing pieces together, seams inside (like you are making a pillow), or hem them so that there are no raw seams on the outside. Hand sewing is fine if you don’t have access to a sewing machine. Please just do whatever you are able to do.

You may use most techniques and or embellishments, as long as they are secured well, including but not limited to: appliqué, piecing, embroidery, fabric markers, fabric paints, stenciling, beading, ribbons, sequins, or buttons (see descriptions below). Remember that the quilt will be folded and unfolded every time it is displayed, so durability is crucial. Since glue deteriorates with time, it is best to sew things to the panel.

Appliqué: Sew fabric, letters and small mementos onto the background fabric. Do not rely on glue - it won't last.

Paint: Brush on textile paint or color-fast dye, or use an indelible ink pen. Please don't use "puffy" paint; it's too sticky.

Stencils: Trace your design onto the fabric with a pencil, lift the stencil, then use a brush to apply textile paint or indelible markers.

Collage: Make sure that whatever materials you add to the panel won't tear the fabric (avoid glass and sequins for this reason), and be sure to avoid very bulky objects.

Sending in your panel:

If you will be attending the Battered Mothers Custody Conference, you can work on your panel over the weekend of the conference.  Some guidance and materials will be provided; you also are encouraged to bring materials with you.

If you will not be attending the conference, please ship your finished panel (make sure to use adequate protective waterproof packing material) to:

A LETTER FROM SANTA CLAUS

A LETTER FROM SANTA CLAUS

I received this letter last night…

Dear Virginia,

I am writing to you to let you know that Santa is not ignoring your most fervent request this Christmas, nor has Santa ignored these same requests for the past years. It’s simply that Santa can not give you what you want, because Family law and the Judges who govern these courts have deemed that your daddy does have the right to abuse you.  He is allowed to beat you, break your bones, torture, have sex with you, sodomize, molest or do anything else that he wants.

Please Virginia, don’t be angry or hate your mommy because she is not protecting you.  For the same rules and judges that allow your father to abuse you will force your mother out of your life if she objects.  So, your mommy can do nothing but hold your hand, wipe your tears and cry silently by herself while she sits helplessly by as your daddy continues to hurt you.  For, if she does object the chances are good that a Family Court Judge will deem her unfit or crazy and force her into only seeing you under supervised conditions.  During this time you will live with your daddy and he will have carte blanche to continue his abuse.  I repeat, Virginia, it is the Family Court system and the judges who govern over them that allow these atrocities to be committed against the children.

Also, Virginia, do not feel guilty when you are forced to lie to these same judges and claim that your mommy is a bad person.  Mommy and Santa understand that you have no choice.  For these same judges will send you home with daddy after you testify or talk to them and mommy and Santa know what daddy will do if you were to tell the truth.  Mommy and Santa understand that you are just trying to survive this horrible childhood of abuse and we still believe that you are a good girl.

Virginia, Santa is so sorry that he can not help you.  Perhaps next year, you should send your letter to the leader of an influential government and ask that he, or she, take a dramatic step in making changes in the Family Court system. Ask that these same judges that are sending countless numbers of children to live with fathers who abuse, beat, rape, sodomize and even kill them to be held accountable.  Ask that when a protective parent fights for their child’s safety that they not be automatically deemed an alienator.  Ask that the judges be forced to recognize that when an abusive parent/father fights for sole custody that they will win in approximately 70% of the cases.  Ask that when pictures and statements of abuse are provided that the family court judges be forced to acknowledge this evidence, instead of refusing to as they send the children to live in horrific circumstances.  For it is clear to Santa that these judges do not care that an average of 2 children a week are being murdered while many more are being subjugated to unspeakable abuse.

So, Virginia, in closing, Santa says that he is so sorry that he can not give you the gift that you most desire.  However, Santa will pray for year in this coming year.  Santa will pray that you receive one less beating, that you have one less broken bone, that Daddy visits your bedroom at night at least one less time in 2011. Finally, Santa will pray that you live to see the next year, because Santa knows that many children will not live to see 2012, for their daddy’s will kill them.

I am so sorry,

Santa Claus

APA GUIDELINES FOR CHILD CUSTODY EVALUATIONS IN FAMILY LAW PROCEEDINGS

Courtesy RightsForMothers

This is new (December, 2010) from the American Psychological Association.  I want to get this out there to help moms…I’ll reserve my commentary to the comments section below.

Introduction

Family law proceedings encompass a broad range of issues, including custody, maintenance, support, valuation, visitation, relocation, and termination of parental rights. The following guidelines address what are commonly termed child custodyevaluations, involving disputes over decision making, caretaking, and access in the wake of marital or other relationship dissolution. The goal of these guidelines is to promote proficiency in the conduct of these particular evaluations. This narrowed focus means that evaluations occurring in other contexts (e.g., child protection matters) are not covered by these guidelines. In addition, the guidelines acknowledge a clear distinction between the forensic evaluations described in this document and the advice and support that psychologists provide to families, children, and adults in the normal course of psychotherapy and counseling.

Although some states have begun to favor such terms as parenting plan, parenting time, or parental rights and responsibilities over the term custody (American Law Institute, 2000, pp. 131–132), the substantial majority of legal authorities and scientific treatises still refer to custody when addressing the resolution of decision-making, caretaking, and access disputes. In order to avoid confusion and to ensure that these guidelines are utilized as widely as possible, these guidelines apply the term custody to these issues generically, unless otherwise specified. It is no longer the default assumption that child custody proceedings will produce the classic paradigm of sole custodian versus visiting parent. Many states recognize some form of joint or shared custody that affirms the decision-making and caretaking status of more than one adult. The legal system also recognizes that the disputes in question are not exclusively marital and therefore may not involve divorce per se. Some parents may never have been married and perhaps may never even have lived together. In addition, child custody disputes may arise after years of successful co-parenting when one parent seeks to relocate for work related or other reasons. These guidelines apply the term parents generically when referring to persons who seek legal recognition as sole or shared custodians.

Parents may have numerous resources at their disposal, including psychotherapy, counseling, consultation, mediation, and other forms of conflict resolution. When parents agree to a child custody arrangement on their own—as they do in the overwhelming majority (90%) of cases (Melton, Petrila, Poythress, & Slobogin, 2007)—there may be no dispute for the court to decide. However, if parties are unable to reach such an agreement, the court must intervene in order to allocate decision making, caretaking, and access, typically applying a “best interests of the child” standard in determining this restructuring of rights and responsibilities (Artis, 2004; Elrod, 2006; Kelly, 1997).

Psychologists render a valuable service when they provide competent and impartial opinions with direct relevance to the “psychological best interests” of the child (Miller, 2002). The specific nature of psychologists’ involvement and the potential for misuse of their influence have been the subject of ongoing debate (Grisso, 1990, 2005; Krauss & Sales, 1999, 2000; Melton et al., 2007).

The acceptance and thus the overall utility of psychologists’ child custody evaluations are augmented by demonstrably competent forensic practice and by consistent adherence to codified ethical standards.  These guidelines are informed by the American Psychological Association’s (APA’s) “Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct” (hereinafter referred to as the Ethics Code; APA, 2002). The term guidelines refers to statements that suggest or recommend specific professional behavior, endeavors, or conduct for psychologists. Guidelines differ from standards in that standards are mandatory and may be accompanied by an enforcement mechanism. Guidelines are aspirational in intent. They are intended to facilitate the continued systematic development of the profession and to help facilitate a high level of practice by psychologists. Guidelines are not intended to be mandatory or exhaustive and may not be applicable to every professional situation. They are not definitive, and they are not intended to take precedence over the judgment of psychologists.

Linda Marie Sacks Press Release: Mothers of America lose custody too Abusers

Press Release          12/22/10

A Florida Mother asks Court to Certify Questions to Florida Supreme Court/ National Crisis in the Family Courts

Mothers of America…..if she can lose custody….any one can…….

A  “squeaky clean” mother, Linda Marie Sacks, in her effort to be re-united with her children, asks the Fifth District Court of Appeals to certify 3 questions of national importance to the Florida Supreme Court.  Mothers all over the U.S. are losing custody of their children, and all their contact is terminated or they are placed indefinitely on Supervised Visitation, by the trial court with no case plan and reunification plan.

After 3 years/9 months of only supervised visitation,(74 hours total) with her children, a Daytona Beach Mom is asking the Fifth District Court of Appeals to certify 3 questions of great national importance.

                       1. If a parent makes a good faith allegation of abuse, with documented evidence,

in an effort to protect her children, should that parent be deprived of physical

custody of her children, or have their contact supervised, indefinitely without a

case  plan, or reunification plan provided by the trial court?

                        2. Does a state court violate the First, Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments when it

deprives a parent of physical custody, and limits that parents contact to Supervised

Visitation with her children, for taking the reasonable action based upon a belief,

supported by facts that her children need protection from abuse?

                        3. Does a state court’s custody decision that deprives a parent of  access  to her

children  indefinitely, unless supervised, without a finding of unfitness by clear and

convincing  evidence, which effectively terminates a party’s parental rights,

violate the Fifth and Fourteen Amendments?

Her daughters in April 2007 told her..”Mommy fight for us and do something every day to get us back and don’t ever stop”, so every day she has kept that promise and now will go to the Florida Supreme Court, and then on to the U.S. Supreme Court in Washington D.C. After spending $140,000  to do undo the unjust  custody ruling by the trial court of Judge Shawn L. Briese, she  is  now more determined than ever, and has taken up the legal challenge on her own as a pro se litigant.

The Fifth District Court of Appeals on Dec. 7, 2010, denied Mothers  2nd appeal so she is now asking that the Florida Supreme Court address this crisis in the family courts. Family courts are in crisis and Mothers are sadly losing custody of their children, and all they did was ask the “official avenues”….judges, police, DCF for help to protect their children from documented abuse, and  they are losing custody. Family court judges are dismissing, ignoring, and suppressing documented evidence  abuse and the abusers are getting custody.

The ABA.. American Bar Association states that Batterers ask the family courts for SOLE custody, and are successful 70% of the time. Imagine…a parent with documented evidence of Domestic Violence, and Child Physical and/ or Sexual Abuse to the children…. And the fathers are able to get SOLE physical custody, and Mothers, known as “protective parents” are sadly placed on supervised visitation or all contact with their children is terminated.

The Florida NOW (National Organization for Women) Ad Hoc Family Law Committee has a brochure on this national crisis.

www.nowfoundation.org/issues/family/

If you think…oh that could never happen to me….that’s what this Mother  thought…and as “squeaky clean”, class Mom, soccer Mom, car pool Mom,  community volunteer, with no drugs, no abuse, no alcohol, just a loving, caring, primary care giver to her  children………..she lost custody in a hearing that the Fifth District court of Appeals Case 5D07-1682 said that her constitutional rights were violated…and the hearing to determine custody on March 9, 2007, should never have taken place in the trial court of Judge Shawn L. Briese.  The Fifth District Court of  Appeals  REVERSED and REMANDED the issue of custody back to Judge Briese for a “Retrial of the custody of the minor children”.  Judge Briese  refused to be disqualified from the hearing on child custody and refused to  remove the unjust “supervised visitation” order.

This national crisis is affecting 39 states………..

A national conference will take place in Albany NY…Jan 7, 8 , 9, 2011 ..addressing this  crisis in the family courts. For more information on this conference:           www.batteredmotherscustodyconference.org

Advocates are asking for a federal investigation into the corruption in the family courts and  congressional hearings to address this national crisis…children are being forced to live with an abusive parent….and safe, protective parents are losing custody.

American Mothers Political Party Show—Special Guest Adult Child Survivor of the PAS Scam, Lyn Twyman --TONIGHT @ 6 pm EST Call in (347) 205-9977

http://www.blogtalkradio.com/americanmotherspoliticalparty/2010/12/16/still-standing

TONIGHT at 6ET join hosts Claudine Dombrowski and Lorraine Tipton as they welcome guest Lyn Twyman to the show to share her experiences of parental alienation and its abuse in her childhood.

Lyn Twyman Domestic violence advocate. Creator and founder of Courage Network, an online community for domestic violence survivors, family, friends, advocates and organizations. www.couragenetwork.com

There is no doubt that Lyn Twyman wears many hats. The driving force behind her passion for life and what she does comes from a past that has shaped and formed her to become the dynamic woman that she is today. Lyn grew up watching all forms of abuse in the lives of her parents. She was victimized as a child by a psychologically abusive father who caused years of separation from her mother, an Asian immigrant who was pressured to marry an American that she had never met. Lyn’s abusive childhood set the stage for her and she later became a victim of intimate partner violence. After sometime of healing and while trying to find resources for another immigrant victim of violence in her own family, Lyn found that comprehensive resources were lacking online. Also, she realized she needed to be a part of breaking the cycle of violence within her own family and families across the country so she founded Courage Network in February of 2009.

AMPP is a social movement seeking justice and accountability within the family court system which includes DHHS/CPS, psychologists and other so called experts.

  • We as mothers demand CITIZENSHIP and our Rights to our Children.
  • We demand that our children not be used as pawns by our abuser in a custody dispute.
  • We demand that Mothers and Children be equally protected against court ordered visitation with an abuser.
  • We demand that Mothers and Children be given the same rights, privileges and voice that the abuser gets in family courts!
  • We demand that our President take action now as can no longer afford to be silent and we won’t.
  • We demand the same "rights and freedoms" to which all humans are entitled.

Behind the closed doors of the dirty little secret of the family court system, thousands of women each year lose child custody to violent men who beat and abuse Mothers and Children. Family courts are not family-friendly and betray the best interests of the child.

Until Mothers and Childrens voices are heard we will never shut up, give up or go away!

Nightmare

Index120907- 35:10

A short Story by Rikki for her English Class—(She only got a “C” for this awesome piece of writing)

Dec, 9, 2007 at the time she was not aware that these were her memories- I did die then- the fog machine- her knowledge of the attack planned before it happened-

She is a beautiful writer and in that she will be only as ok as I am..

And I will live for forever for her I will fly high- and never will we fall again…

Nightmare

It all started the night of the dream, the dream when my life turned upside down and inside out.

I practically had a normal life. I had a mom and dad; I had two sisters and an annoying brother. I am 13 years old and my name is Kira.

It was about 12 am and dead silence in the house. I was sitting up in my bed with sweat pouring down my face. I was just sitting there thinking about the nightmare I just had.

In the nightmare all I saw was fog and a person running through the house; it was like I was that person. It was like I was following a person. I heard my sister scream and saw her jump out of the way of the person. She was scared of him….her.

My other sister, mother and my brother were in the corner of the hall crying and saying to each other ‘whatever happens I hope she doesn’t hurt us’.

As the person or girl I should say walked into the dining room. I saw me. I was just laying there- barely moving. My father was in the room to but he left as soon as I entered the room.

“Kira get up or you going to be late for school again’, my sister Lisa said annoyed by my sleeping in late.

She is 15 and always trying to act like mom. ‘Kira get up now… Kiraaa..!”

‘Fine, I’ll get up’ I yelled from underneath all my covers.

I didn’t realize I had fallen back asleep.  I looked over and looked at my alarm clock it was ten minutes till 7, I had plenty of time. I rolled back over and started to fall back asleep; I heard a crash and my mom yelled. I jumped out of bed and ran downstairs to see what she was yelling. It turned out all it was, was the fog machine and fog was going everywhere just like in my dream.

Later that morning after I finished getting ready. My little brother Kyle was annoying my two sisters just like always; told me how mom broke the fog machine.

Then Lisa, Kelly, Kyle and I all went to school.

We all got home around three o’clock. That’s when it all took a turn for the worst. I went into the dining room to do my homework, mom, Lisa, Kelly and Kyle were upstairs doing something.

I heard someone at the door and I went to go get it, Dad got there before me. As he opened the door some woman walked in and asked “Are you sure you want to do this?” “Yes’ dad said quietly “yes, I am sure”.

She pulled something out of her pocket and at the moment I knew what was happening, my nightmare was coming true.

‘Nooooooooooooo’ I screamed at the top of my lungs “How could you”. Don’t you love us..?

I turned to run upstairs to tell mom and everybody when, I hit the ground, that’s it, I don’t remember what really happened after that. I just remember waking up in the hospital with Lisa, Kelly and Kyle staring down at me. Tears were in there eyes.

“What’s wrong?” I mumbled. Kelly took turns with Kyle telling me what happened. They told me exactly what happened in my nightmare. My sister Lisa

upset, “Well Kira… mom and dad.. well..I don’t know how to tell you this, well…..

…’Mom and dad..are dead.” Kelly said as tears poured out.

The woman who came in and did all this, the one who killed mom and dad, tried to kill you along with them. They tried to stop her but she killed them in the process. The police said her name was Marie. ‘She was a professional killer’, Kyle piped in’

So dad must have hired her to do this.

“Why did she not hurt you guys,” I asked weakly. “Well we were all upstairs in Kelly’s room hiding” Lisa said as she sat down by Kyle.

“Oh, so she saw me, tried to kill me killed mom and dad instead and hurt me.” So she’ll come back and try to kill me to finish what she started. Right..? “

“I think so” the police said as he entered the room. We have been tracking her down, but we have not caught her yet. We need your help.

Within the next 24 hours, the police and my family- what was left of us, devised a plan to catch Marie. It was Sunday, July 24th. I was at the ‘steak house’.

The ‘steak house’ was where we stayed so that when she came the police could arrest her.. before she finished off with me.

It was about 12 am. And I was sitting in my bed.. with sweat pouring down my face. I was just sitting there thinking about the nightmare I had just had. Dead silence in the house.

I heard some one at the front door, I crept down to see what or - who it was..? I saw a shadow of some one, but no one was really there. So I went back upstairs to go to sleep.

Every now and then,

I wonder ‘what happened to Marie, the police never caught her., and they may not. We just don’t know.

Kansas Watch Dog: "Claudine Dombrowski: An abused mom victimized again by the Kansas Courts"

Compelling stories from parents and grandparents about problems with placement and removal of children

By Earl Glynn On December 4, 2009

See this video: Claudine Dombrowski Abused Mom Wants Unsupervised Visits with Daughter

Listen to Claudine Dombrowski Testimony to Joint Committee on Children's Issues:

Claudine Dombrowski

Claudine Dombrowski: An abused mom victimized again by the Kansas Courts

Claudine Dombrowski: An abused mom victimized again by the Kansas Courts

Read details in written statement.

This is an truly incredible story that should never have happened in America.

Parts of the Kansas Judicial system should be disciplined for how it has victimized Ms. Dombrowski, who was an abused mom.

Instead of quotes from the audio, please consult these pages that document Dombrowski’s long and difficult battle to protect her daughter:

As you view these photos keep in mind that the court awarded FULL CUSTODY of their daughter to the “man” who did this to Claudine.

State Rep Bill Otto: “No crime? You haven’t been guilty of anything? This is a court order that says you can’t go to any school functions?”

“I was under court order till 2004 to not even call the police after I was being beaten because … I was not ‘co-parenting’”

Dombrowski: “These friends of the court make recommendations to the judge. The parents … don’t have a right to see these documents. They do this behind closed doors.”

Otto: (To Secretary Jordan): “You have no rights as a parent …?”

Secretary Don Jordan: “This would be something extreme … I’m not familiar with the situation.”

Otto: “Can a judge do that? … Is that legal… ?”

Jordan: “Under the right circumstances … I hesitate to speculate.”

Sen. Roger Reitz: “This is something that only … the judicial system can really answer … It would be helpful … to have someone … representing the judicial system … to give us some ideas how this could happen.”

Dombrowski: “When you are a victim of domestic violence, and suddenly there’s a child involved, the typical …. power of control is that ‘I’ll take your children from you’. They will and they can the way the laws are setup.” …

“I was told that I’m not to talk to my daughter about the violence. That’s why I don’t see her. That’s why I see her supervised. He was criminally convicted. “

“When women try to get away from people who hurt them … I heard somebody say it’s really hard to believe you won’t call the police … I tell people not to contact the police, because as soon as you walk into court with a DV (domestic violence) and children, you’re already cutting your throat. You will lose your children. That’s the way it is right now.”

“… on the 16th of this month I’ll probably go to jail for breaking the gag order and talking about [being the victim of] violence as it relates to my case.”

Reitz: “… someone ought to be able to deal with this in a way that would address her problem. It doesn’t seem like we’ve done the right thing with regards to this little niche of the law.”

Dombrowski: “The criminal convictions are completely tossed aside and they don’t have any bearing on the family court … The eight criminal convictions that my ex had before getting custody of my daughter were completely dropped [in family court]“

Chair Kiegerl: “I cannot believe that abuse is totally ignored. I cannot believe you can prohibit a person from speaking about their own case.”

“The one thing [where] … I disagree with you is abuse should always be reported.”

State Rep Peggy Mast (R-Emporia): “Domestic violence is a control issue. Sexual abuse is a control issue. Is there any correlation between domestic violence and sexual abuse? Why is that not something that is considered when we take someone to [family] court that has a history of domestic violence?”

Dombrowski: “Yes. That is something I’ve asked myself for 16 years. … It comes back to the family court that has a veil of immunity. … They don’t fully understand the impact of the violence. What battered women have … if they report the abuse, then they’re failing to protect their child … if they don’t report the abuse, they’re still failing to protect their child. So, both ways, they’re going to lose their children …”

For anybody who abuses their wife … [from] a 1996 presidential task force … there is a 70% increase that those children will be abused and/or sexually abused after there’s been battery with the mother.

Sen. Oletha Faust-Goudea: “In 2004 …. I talked with the homicide department in Sedgwick County…. During that time there had been 21 homicides in Sedgwick County and 18 were due to domestic violence …”

“A lot of women do make those phone calls and unfortunately, sometimes it ends in their death.” …

“I want to apologize to you for being treated like a pedophile … not being able to go to a music concert.”

“I commend you for what you’re doing.”

Dombrowski: “I have not talked to my daughter in 10 years [except] for the confines of supervised visits. I’m not allowed to talk to her about anything. All she knows is what her dad has told her.”

******Note:
Please spread this video--- although she is held captive, the www will get to her and she will know how loved she is-- that she is not forgotten and that her family loves her so very much.
Especially her mother Claudine Dombrowski who on December 12, 1994 became a mother-- and knew what unconditional love was truly about.
Six years later she was stolen by the family courts--given to her Mothers abuser Hal Richardson and has been kept away from her mother for now 11 years.

Rene Netherton and her blatant hatred of Claudine Dombrowski

Rene Netherton and her blatant hatred of Claudine Dombrowski

Rene you can shut down the blog all you want. We took screen shots of everything that was out there and I am now publishing it for all to see.
Now for everyone to understand we must post the screen shots so they can see for themselves. So we will start with your blogger profile:

Next we move in to your question in blogger/google help files:

Now we have established that you are Rene we can move on to the blog posts (which sorry folks are no longer available but here are the screen shots of the alleged blog posts. This is the first one but it is extremely shrunk so hard to make out. I also zoomed in and took a second screen shot of the same post in order to show the actual wording:

Now we have the second blog post made by Rene:

And the third post:

I am not sure which of these posts is more disturbing. You have here a woman who is a lawyer. But in the first post she publishes information about Claudine which should (whether true or not) be protected under medical confidentiality.
The second post contains more information about Claudine's alleged mental disorder (keep in mind folks that an abuser's biggest tool in his toolbox is to claim the mother is mentally ill or promiscuous or both).
The third post then contains the statement that the blogger is going to reveal Claudine's address to "both of her supporters". Claudine is and has been a participant in the safe at home address program. This is for victims of violence to be able to live in safety and not worry about future violence. Why on earth would a program administered by the state allow Claudine to be a participant if she is indeed lying about the abuse that happened?
There is a Facebook page created in Rene's honor. We ask on behalf of the creator that you join and help Claudine start the complaint process which will ultimately strip Rene Netherton of the privilege to practice law anywhere.
Hat Tip to "R" and thank you for your part in keeping the world safe from abusers and those who would support them.

What The Kansas Court Whores do to Battered Mothers and Their Children DOMBROWSKI: POSTER CHILD FOR ALL THAT IS WRONG WITH FAMILY COURT PROCEEDINGS

  • Teresa says: aka Rene M Netherton

    NOVEMBER 9, 2010 AT 6:18 PM

Thank god Rikki will be 18 soon and can speak her peace! Then and only then will the truth come out-what will Ms. Dombrowsky do with all her time then?

  • Nancy Carroll says:

    NOVEMBER 9, 2010 AT 6:52 PM

@ Teresa: Yes it will be good when Rikki turns 18, but it is no guarantee she will be free. A child needs to find her own voice before breaking away from an abusive control freak, and age isn’t a factor in this. When Rikki does break free, it will be great for her and her mother, for I know they love each other. Fear is a mighty powerful factor. Once that is past, then time can be spent together, time that was cruely stolen from them.

  • AMPP says:

    NOVEMBER 10, 2010 AT 6:56 AM

@ Teresa– You wouldnt be Rene M. Netherton The Psycho GAL who is harrasing Claudine now? tsk tsk

  • LetsGetHonest says:

    NOVEMBER 11, 2010 AT 8:20 PM

Whoever Teresa is, she can’t spell “Dombrowski” right – which takes some doing, considered how many places this is on the internet. If she’s a GAL in the case, perhaps this might be par for the course — not reading the paperwork enough to pick up on the spelling of the client’s name.

Anne Caroline Drake, are the lights on yet? How many groups want people to believe it’s that the legal representation “just don’t understand” or are “inadequate” and not that someone has paid off someone in this case, perhaps, much? Or that Kansas, like many other states, is prime Fatherhood country, at least as to funding, organizations promoting it, etc. I’m sure that hasn’t affected anyone’s judgment in the courts yet, though. it’s all about personal vendettas, right, and not about money to be made off the case.

Summarized in August 2010 on RightsForMothers & Comments:

Claudine has been a strong voice for battered and abused mothers, having testified before State Rep Mike Kiegerl‘s (R-Olathe) Joint Committee on Children’s Issues in December 2009.

Claudine has been gagged, denied documents to her case, denied parenting time (AGAIN), and even had her phone confiscated from her. She came to court with 67 violations of the last court order of daddy Hal Richardson keeping Daughter from seeing her mother.

And Anne Caroline seemed to think that if only the Legislature would make sure that judges understand about PAS:

    Bravo, Nancy! Bravo!

I’d like to know why the judges in KS haven’t had judicial training in PAS. This is something the legislature can fix immediately.

I think someone else explained that they ARE being trained in PAS (that it’s a terrible thing fathers must be protected against…..those nasty, alienating mothers, false allegations of domestic violence, etc….)

    August 23, 2010 (& ff.) Comments included:

suggest we stop letting the legislators play “I see NUTTin’.” And the only way to keep on doing that is find out if they know what’s going on in their own districts, at least. Like I mentioned in comments to AnneCarolineDrake’s post (if you can wade through them), Fathers.com is based in Leawood Kansas, where the Governors live.

Also, the main access/visitation funding are coming straight to the Office of the Governor in Kansas. ALSO, wasn’t it in about 1998 that the concept of Fathering Courts re: child support, sprang forth? There’s some in Kansas City, MO, right across the border from Claudine in KCK area. Do these people really not understand that these things are affecting family law cases?

I know legislators have to delegate a whole lot, but they have aides. Who are their chief aides?

It’s not enough to know the individual cases/personnel, but also to know the context in which they set.

    Speaking of which, here’s another article from last March, referring to policies kicked off by our President the previous year (2009);

Last year, Obama addressed a group of community leaders, fathers, and children from schools near D.C. in a speech meant to kick off a national conversation on fatherhood. He noted that his accomplishments were due to the efforts of his mother and grandparents but added, “Despite all their extraordinary love and attention that doesn’t mean I didn’t feel my father’s absence. That’s something that leaves a hole in a child’s heart that a government can’t fill.”

Indeed, Obama has never suggested it should, but he has acknowledged the government can encourage fathers to get more involved. This marks a slight departure from his predecessor. For George W. Bush and his fellow conservatives, involved fathers were important because nuclear families were important.Advocates for anti-poverty programs grew frustrated with Bush because both his rhetoric and his policies emphasized personal and familial responsibility, as if all poor families lacked were moral values. He allocated federal money to programs that promoted marriage, but the bill authorizing the funds did not use language that restricted their use for low-income families exclusively; they were open to anyone.

    {{this includes the Hal Richardsons of the world, and the professionals associated with them…}}

Now, under Obama, fatherhood programs and marriage initiatives are poised to get more funding. His 2011 budget allocates money under Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, also known as welfare-to-work, for a new initiative intended to help parents with barriers to self-sufficiency.

A parallel Obama effort, the “conversation on fatherhood,” run by the White House Office of Faith-Based and Community Partnerships, targets Americans of all income levels but doesn’t administer grant money.

This article quotes several key fatherhood people/organizations; we didn’t know about it, I guess… were busy elsewhere… No one telling the story about who this hurts mothers and kids was in on that conversation, called “Is promoting responsible fatherhood really the best way to lift families out of poverty?”

But if we had been, the answer would’ve been read: Just refer to FVPF’s
National Institute on Fathering and Domestic Violence

Funded by the same people making more and more cases like Claudine’s, Tammy’s and others. Solution to this: More of the same, such as:

    Public and Private Partnerships:

The NIFDV has been supported by public and private partners including the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, the Ms. Foundation for Women, the Office on Violence Against Women, the Department of Health and Human Services, and the Family Violence Prevention & Services Program, Administration on Children and Families.
U.S. Department of Health & Human Services

This project is being developed in partnership with other national organizations, such as the Center for Family Policy and Practice [CFFPP], the Institute on Domestic Violence in the African American Community [IDVAAC], the National Latino Alliance to Eliminate Domestic Violence, Mending the Sacred Hoop, the Domestic Violence Resource Network, and the Minnesota Center Against Violence and Abuse.
The National Institute has three core elements:

    1. Training and Technical Assistance Leadership Academy
    2. Program Practice and Development Center
    3. Information Clearinghouse

Fatherhood has proven to be a powerful tool to reach men in understanding the effects of family violence

Thankfully, we were “heard” recently, resulting in (yet another) initiative, grant going to the same FVPF that has sucked up the conversation and excluded the custody-switch, batterers getting custody talk.

Here is from the KS Governor’s site, soliciting grant applications for the 2011 year, I guess, SAVP — “State Access Visitation Programs.”

    This is what they do:

    Purpose
To provide supervised child exchange or supervised child visitation to children and families at risk because of circumstances relating to neglect; substance abuse; emotional, physical, or sexual abuse; domestic or family violence; etc.

    Eligible Applicants
Funds are available to units of state or local government, for profit organizations and private nonprofit organizations. A 10% non-federal cash match is required.

    Funding Source
The Federal State Access & Visitation grant program is a formula grant program to states and participation is voluntary. The federal administrative agency is the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

    For 2010, the recipients were:

    County Organization Name Grant Award
    Allen Hope Unlimited $7,338
    Cloud 12th Judicial District $7,042
Crawford Crisis Resource Center of Southeast Kansas $8,780
    Douglas The Farm Inc. $10,872
Leavenworth First Judicial District CASA Association $10,990
    Lyon SOS $1,888
    Lyon SOS $9,442
Reno Sexual Assault/Domestic Violence Center $11,932
Riley Sunflower CASA Project, Inc. $7,224
    Sedgwick Wichita Children’s Home $9,522
    Shawnee YMCA of Topeka $2,324
    Shawnee YMCA of Topeka $14,729

Conveniently, former-governor Kathleen Sebelius is at HHS watching over these things, I guess…However on 06-17-2010 (wasn’t that JUST ABOUT on Father’s Day, or right before it?) as governor, she, or she & current governor, established — through Executive Order — an Early Childhood Council. After all, Rikki is about to age out, and where will the new fatherhood customers come from (Fatherhood funding has long also been in Head Start initiatives, FYI).

Oh, and here’s a 2009 AFCC site, catching up on the most recent alienation etc. strategies:

As a strategy to help Claudine, and people like her, I think we should ignore these things.

    Advanced Parenting Coordination Training

AFCC, in collaboration with the AFCC Missouri Chapter and the University of Missouri at Kansas City School of Law, will be offering Attachment, Alienation and Access: Advanced Interventions for Parenting Coordinators on September 30-October 1, 2009. Arnold Shienvold, Ph.D. will focus on how to work effectively with the most challenging clients and issues, including those with personality disorders and attachment problems.

    Denver Call for Presenters
AFCC’s 47th Annual Conference, Traversing the Trail of Alienation: Rocky Relationships, Mountains of Emotion, Mile High Conflict, will take place June 2-5, 2010 at the Sheraton Denver. If you have an interesting workshop idea that you would like considered, please submit a proposal prior to October 5, 2009.

I wonder where the professionals are getting all those ideas about alienation from…..
Gotta run. Pardon me, but I have a 17 yr old, a 19 yr old… Miss them …. Too bad someone didn’t tell me this stuff 5 years ago, I’d've known which trees to bark up and which not to bark up.

    RIKKI DOMBROWSKI:

Rikki Dombrowski, as shown on Guardian ad Litem M. Jill Dyke's Facebook page.

Rikki is often on my mind.  Granted, not as much as on her mother, Claudine Dombrowski’s, mind.  I was also a child victim of family courts, just as Rikki is.  Just as my children are now, although I don’t write about them at all (too traumatic).

Rikki was taken to talk to the judge (alone, no witnesses), Judge David Debenham, a couple of weeks ago, while her mother Claudine was in the midst of another judicial smackdown.  Although she had been given the right to see her daughter after years of no or limited (supervised) contact in the January 2010 hearing that I attended as a court watcher, daddy Hal Richardson did everything in his power to not allow the visits to take place.  He had 83 violations of the court order up to a point this fall…read about the case here.

Witnesses have told me that when daddy Hal Richardson brought Rikki to be interviewed by the judge, he was acting very sternly towards her, and she was crying just before going in. Knowing that the last time Rikki was “allowed” to call her mother this past spring to cancel her two hour Sunday visitation, daddy Hall Richardson was yelling at Rikki in the background and Rikki was uncontrollably crying while she was telling Claudine she couldn’t see her that day.  That was the last phone call to take place.

My point is Rikki is one of many children in a situation like this, threatened to follow the abuser’s script or face the consequences.  In Rikki’s case, there is a child’s coffin in Hal Richardson’s living room ready for use.  If the corrupt court officials in this case actually did their jobs, Richardson would be in prison and Rikki would be with her mother.  There is a movement now to disbar Rene NethertonM. Jill Dykes lunged at Claudine in the courthouse hallway, and had her husband call to threaten her…actions will be filed on this also.   Snorting Topeka attorney Jason P. Hoffman continues to lie in court about anything to help his abusive client Hal Richardson, including claiming Claudine Dombrowski is me when he knows she is not.   No, Rikki Dombrowski is a cash cow to them.

Children like this are often a big source of income to people like this.  Snorting Jason L. Hoffman used the term “parental alienation” so much during the January 2010 hearing, I lost count.  This term, and syndromes/disorders associated with it, were invented by people (like Dr. William Bernet) who make lots of money from it, using it to sell books and sell their “testimony.”  It is well known by judge’s associations as a tool for abusers to get custody of children.  It certainly worked in this case…imbecile Judge Debenham fell for it (or maybe was paid off).

When I think of Rikki getting threatened in the courthouse hallway and her crying, I get really mad.  This is what our children are going through.  When will it stop?  The White House addressed family court cases during it’s press conference somewhat due to this case (afterall they have beenreading about it here), but when is something actually going to be done?

We need more courtwatchers to let these abusers, abusive attorneys, and abusive judges know that we are not going to take it any more. We need courtwatchers so that we can document this crime against children & moms. We need to keep writing, keep networking, keep protesting wherever we are, for this injustice will not continue.

One would think that after the little to no contact that Claudine has had, the parental alienation would bte thrown out. What does this say about the judge. It’s time for the olaws to change and allow us to go after obviously corrupt or ignorant (ignorance is not an excuse) judges.

    • Anne Caroline Drake says:

      NOVEMBER 8, 2010 AT 11:08 AM

Joe Biden, who is a steadfast champion for abused women and children, said that one of the greatest obstacles for women is access to competent legal representation. I have examined this case in-depth and believe that’s what’s going on here.

Claudine has been accompanied to court by attorneys, but I don’t see much evidence of vigorous representation of her interests.

The lights are on at the American Bar Association’s DV commission, but nobody’s home. As Joe Biden said, women need more help than somebody getting them a restraining order. The KS governor and first lady both claim to be champions for abused women and children. Why aren’t their buddies stepping up to the plate with some real pro bono representation of Claudine???

      My two cents,
      Anne Caroline Drake

These Kansas oHfficials are so backwards assed they would rather pick on an abused woman than DEFEND her! Someday and somewhere over that rainbow skies are blue…and a mother and child will NEVER have to deal with such wickedness!

My abusive X would not give my son back to me in the custody battle and went and disowned him and placed him in foster care. Now foster care is abusing him and placing him into this program called Intercept where he does not belong My son is not fighting back and has learned helplessness how do they think this is helping my splitting the family up so I can not drive for 3 hours to visit my son in Richmond and they know that! They are locking my son away because it is the easy thing for them to do.

The Trial is this monday the 15th at 11 in JDC in Fairfax county third floor for Folse if you can come out and provide your support please

I guess Oklahoma (home of the Good Ole Boys) is bad too. Sounds just like California. Do they collect C.A.F.T.A. funds form the feds in their courts too?
Here is a post about an Algerian daughter of a 30yr. now retired, Algerian Senator. She had her child taken away and given to her HIV pos husband when she divorced him.
She divorced him for marrying her without disclosing that he was HIV positive, for not telling her he had been arrested for sex crimes, etc. During the separation the daughter had visits at the husband’s home. After the visits to daddy’s house she started telling mommy stories about daddy making movies with her, licking her legs like a dog, putting his finger in her, eating her poop….and then there was the Children’s Hospital report of a torn hymen and a vaginal infection wherein the daughter told the doctor that daddy gave her a big boo boo in her vagina. Guess what??? The court awarded sole custody to the father. We have the videotaped discussion of the girl with her mommy. In it, she is describing things only a child being molested would know. She was three years old then. A very articulate, warm girl. Her mother is a doctor of veterinary and totally sane. She had no criminal record and owed no taxes.

@ Rajab: Oh wow! This is happening FAR TOO MUCH! It is to the point I almost look at disgust if I see a father alone with children. This is the fault of all the courts giving so many children to abusers and rapists, it is almost guaranteed they will get custody. Please never stop trying to do something about this! Everyday people and the media is finally starting to take notice of this. The White House and the U.S. Department of Justice has been on these posts a few times lately, especially looking at these posts. I’m sure they will read your comment.
